Email marketing is SO popular these days! It is unusual to check your inbox without being greeted by numerous new arrivals. Because virtually every online business uses this effective tool, it is critical to learn the do's and don'ts of email marketing.

This article will focus on 7 email practices to strictly avoid.

1) Avoid delivering test messages to your whole customer list. Send a test message to a sampling of approximately 1/3 of your list.

2.) Try to avoid sending multiple test messages to your whole list. Again, a sampling of approximately 1/3 of your list will suffice.

3.) Avoid delivering test messages with slang terms or unprofessional text. This is particularly true if the message is to your entire list.

4.) NEVER send large quantities of unsolicited email. This is called SPAM!

5.) If your mailings are in html, watch out for broken links.

6.)Again, if you intend to send out an html email, do not send text by accident.

7.) Never send an email to a person that has unsubscribed to your list.

I realize that some of these suggestions are common sense, Still, mistakes can easily be made with multiple lists and short time frames. With email marketing becoming more popular by the day, establishing good practices and habits now, will serve you and your business well in the future.
